Global Jet Capital, a provider of finance for large‑cabin, long-range private jets, today announces the launch of an aircraft sales division. The announcement comes as new research(1) reveals that 11.5% of the world’s fleet of mid-sized to heavy business aircraft are currently available for sale, a total of 1,500 aircraft.

Over 40% of Europe's Business Jet Fleet is Mid-to-Heavy in Size

New research from Global Jet Capital, a provider of financing solutions for large‐cabin, long‑range private jets, reveals that 41% of Europe’s fleet of business aircraft are mid to heavy, and the corresponding figure for the global fleet is 32%.

Overall, there are around 1,691 mid to large private jets in Europe and further research shows that the UK dominates this with a market share of 15% (249), which is more than any other country in the region.

Ed Barnes Appointed as Global Jet Capital's Chief Financial Officer

Global Jet Capital, a provider of financing solutions for large-cabin, long-range private jets, has announced that it has appointed Ed Barnes as Chief Financial Officer.

Barnes, who officially commences his role today (4th April), has more than 20 years’ experience as a senior-level finance executive. He was formerly CFO at Nasdaq-listed JetBlue Airways and has also served on the board of Jetscape, an aircraft leasing company. At JetBlue, Barnes led the company’s transition from a start up focused on top line growth to a maturing and complex $4.5 billion organization delivering sustainable growth, free cash flow and shareholder value. At Jetscape, he provided oversight for a company which currently owns and manages 49 aircraft leased to 24 airline operators in 15 countries.
